As ITAA continues to grow and adapt to the evolving IT landscape, the need for an additional Senior Microsoft resource has become essential to support our clients’ increasing reliance on Microsoft technologies. With businesses transitioning to cloud-based services, hybrid work environments, and advanced digital infrastructures, there is a rising demand for expertise in areas like Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.
ITAA is excited to welcome Lucy Baker to the ITAA team as a Senior Microsoft Consultant. With over a decade of experience both working for and advising on Microsoft as a vendor, along with various other roles in the industry, Lucy brings a wealth of insider knowledge that will greatly benefit our diverse client base. She is known for her strong focus on delivering tailored, customer-centric solutions, using her versatile expertise to think creatively and offer innovative approaches to every challenge. Her deep understanding of Microsoft’s licensing landscape enables her to provide strategic guidance that perfectly fits each client’s unique needs.
Lucy commments: “My time at Microsoft was invaluable. I learned so much and met some incredible people, but what I gained most was a deep understanding of Microsoft licensing and how the company operates from the inside—being ‘in the belly of the beast,’ so to speak. Over the past few years, I’ve built on that experience by helping clients with audits, negotiations, and significant cost-saving initiatives. I must admit, I much prefer saving customers money now compared to costing them money back then! It’s rewarding to plan how they can reinvest those savings and see the positive impact on their budget and balance sheet.”
Lucy specializes in Microsoft software licensing and excels in helping clients optimize their licenses, ensuring they are compliant while minimizing costs. She is particularly skilled in effective license position (ELP) assessments, risk remediation, and developing strategies for license optimization—essential services for any organization looking to manage their software investments more effectively. Additionally, her experience in audit defense helps clients navigate complex audits and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance.
In contract analysis and negotiation, Lucy’s expertise shines, as she offers invaluable support in securing favourable terms and managing vendor relationships. Her profound knowledge of Microsoft contracts ensures that clients get the best possible deal while maintaining compliance. Beyond licensing, Lucy is passionate about optimizing Microsoft 365 environments to boost productivity and ensure organizations are leveraging these tools to their full potential.
She has also been instrumental in developing IT asset management (ITAM) policies, guiding organizations in establishing effective frameworks for managing their IT assets. Moreover, Lucy has designed and delivered managed services that support ongoing Microsoft technology optimization, ensuring that clients benefit from continuous improvements.
