Mumbles Rangers celebrates 75 years with a league title and international trip for the Girls’ U13s. Discover how ITAA helped support their journey.
Some legacies are built over decades. Others are lived every weekend on the pitch.
This year marks 75 years since Mumbles Rangers was founded by Billy Johns BEM—an extraordinary figure who, despite being confined to a wheelchair, believed fiercely in giving young people the chance to enjoy sport. His belief in community and opportunity still drives the club today, now home to 739 players, 191 coaches, and 58 teams.
One of the most exciting parts of that story is the remarkable rise of the Girls’ section, which now includes 21 teams and over 300 players. With Platinum FAW Accreditation and newly redeveloped facilities at Underhill Park, Mumbles Rangers continues to lead the way in access, ambition, and development.
Among the standout success stories this season are the Girls’ U13s, who completed an unbeaten run to become league champions—securing the title with a hard-fought 1–0 playoff win against Talycopa.
Recently, the squad also travelled to the Netherlands to compete in the Holland Easter South 2025 tournament, gaining valuable experience, exposure, and confidence on the international stage.
To support that journey, ITAA provided kit bags, warm-up tops, and training gear for the players—helping the team travel with pride and a strong sense of identity.
For Natalie Pelders, Chair of the Girls’ Section, this kind of support has a lasting impact:
“Mumbles Rangers is committed to ensuring all players enjoy football and be the best that they can be. All our coaches are volunteers, organising games and training sessions in their own time, and the support from ITAA is greatly appreciated in helping provide an enjoyable environment for the girls with the equipment and kit they need to succeed on the pitch. Thank you to ITAA in helping to keep grassroots football in Mumbles thrive.”
At ITAA, we know it’s not just about the matches won or the trips taken—it’s about what those moments mean. Confidence. Belonging. A future with possibilities. We’re proud to stand behind young players as they carry a 75-year legacy into the next chapter.
